Our facility houses a medical practice, rooms for visiting specialists, allied health providers and additional medical service providers. This is one of the oldest medical centre around the area. The medical practice also facilitates specialist and allied health services.

North Richmond Family Medical Practice is a Mixed Billing Practice. We do bulk bill patients who have a concession card, (i.e.) pension, or health care card; patients under 16 years; or patients over 65 with approved concession cards. Patients without a valid Medicare card will be asked to pay a fee which varies according to the length of the appointment. Medical examinations (e.g. RTA Drivers Medicals, Pre-Employment Medicals, Insurance Medicals) are not covered by Medicare and these will also attract a fee, which will vary depending on the complexity of the medical. Surgical procedures such as skin biopsy, skin excisions and iron infusions may also incur a fee. This should be discussed with your doctor. All fees are subject to change without notice so for up to date information please confirm fees with our receptionists when booking an appointment.

Your personal information such a name, date of birth, address, contact details, Medicare number, health identification number and medical information allow us to provide you with high-quality, personalise care.

The internet is not a secure medium. We have put in a few measures to protect your information such as limited access for staff according to their role in the practice; login and password controls; and automatic screen saver mode. When sending referrals to other health professionals our system uses a secure encrypted program (Medical Objects).
We run by an appointment system to minimize your waiting time, however urgent cases/ emergencies will be seen on the day. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred GP, time, and date. Due to unforeseen circumstances, such as an emergency, delays can sometimes occur, and your patience would be appreciated if this should happen before your appointment.Phone Appointments: Limited phone appointments are available. You may be eligible if you are COVID positive; if you are elderly and have difficulty mobilizing; and sometimes for results (although this is at the doctor’s discretion).
To organise a phone appointment, please speak to our receptionists and advise them of your situation. Please be aware that Medicare regulations require that you have visited our practice or have seen one of our doctors in the past 12 months to be eligible for telephone appointments.We also welcome walk in patients. This is dependent on the doctor’s availability on the day, and you may need to wait or return at a more suitable time.
If you require a longer appointment, please discuss this with the receptionist when booking your appointment. We ask patients to arrive on time for their appointment so other patients are not inconvenienced.
You can contact your doctor by ringing reception on 0245 71 3399 during surgery hours. Urgent calls will always be dealt with promptly.
